Plot
As the night goes on, the remaining residents of the Suzuki's mountain villa sit at the dining table, the thought of the mysterious bandaged man trying to kill all of them one by one made them tense.
Masaru reasssures Ran that the six of them can defeat the lone bandaged killer but Conan corrected as he can defend with the group as he did save Ran from getting killed twice already. As Conan explained that the killer has a lean body, he noticed Sumiya's video camera that recorded the moment that the killer swooped in front of their eyes during dinner. He replayed the tape to confirm that Chikako had her choker on as she was being carried away, which confirmed his suspicions of the killer was one of the men in the mansion: Masaru, Sumiya and Ryouichi. Ayako then asked Conan for Chikako's choker back and that's when he found out of Chikako skipping dinner because of a letter secretly given to her when she came to her room.
Conan asked Ran if she saw any bandages or a strange cloak inside the three rooms she accidentally peeked in. She told Conan that she wasn't able to notice as she closed the door immediately as the men were changing. Ran then told him that she did notice something that time, but she couldn't remember. Conan made her remember that, because it could eliminate the suspects to determine the murderer.
However, a powerful lightning flash struck at the villa, leaving it in total darkness. Ayako then went to get candles from the kitchen, accompanied by Ran and Conan.
As they went back to the dining room with the candles, Ran sensed something behind her and she lashed out her leg behind her. Something snapped and the blade of the axe pinned itself onto the ground beside them. Electricity came back into the villa, when suddenly Sonoko screamed.
When the three of them got back to the dining room, they saw that one of the windows on the second floor was broken. When they came closer to inspect the damage, Conan thought that the attacker went through the window and as he went out, he broke it, making it look like that he crashed in. When he went onto the veranda, he noticed strange marks on the wooden railing. At that time, he already figured out the true identity of the bandaged menace.
He then decided to shoot Ran unconscious in order to wrap up the case right away. However, Ran moved, which made Sonoko be the one unconscious. He then recovered and revealed the evidence to determine the murderer among them.
