Hitomi (ひとみ, Hitomi; English TV "Haley") is the friend of Aiko and Reiko and the ex-girlfriend of Kishida. She is the one who murdered Kishida, which her motive was jealousy.

Background

Hitomi dated With Kishida a long time ago. At their first date, Kishida gave Hitomi a necklace. Before they went to college they met Aiko. Hitomi got dumped by Kishida for Aiko left her heartbroken[1].

Personality

She is a very nice person, evenly letting Shinichi and Ran go first at the roller coaster. Known is that she can also acts greatly as most of the culprits introduced through the series on the point of twisting their stories. Hitomi isn't a very cold person for someone who committed a brute murder. It can be that Hitomi still cared about Kishida, because she cried before his death.

Kishida

Main article: Kishida Kishida was Hitomi's boyfriend before they've met Aiko and Reiko before they went to colleague. Kishida gave her a pearled necklace which she treasured it until Kishida's death. She was mad that Kishida broke up with her only to be with Aiko, which seemed that she had no grudge against him, but she had, which she planned to kill him at Tropical Land with the necklace she gave to him. She planned the murder and was trying to frame Aiko with it.

Aiko

Main article: Aiko The two met each other before Hitomi and Kishida went to colleague, also the reason why Kishida have broken up with Hitomi. After the break up with Kishida, the two remains to be friends, until Kishida's death which she wanted to give Aiko the blame that she have murdered Kishida.

Reiko

Main article: Reiko The two met each other before Hitomi and Kishida went to colleague. The two were good friends after Aiko dated with Kishida.

Appearance

Hitomi has long brown hair and blue eyes. She wore a blue dress with a dark blue shirt beneath it. She wore a pearled necklace that she got from her then-boyfriend Kishida.

Plot

The Murder In the Roller Coaster

She cried on the necklace that Kishida gave her before the day that she went with her friends to Tropical Land[2].

She appeared when Shinichi suddenly shakes her hand which he was trying to show Ran something that he have read in the Sherlock Holmes novels. Shinichi reveals that she is in the gymnastic team which she is in shock. One of her friends asks her is she knows Shinichi which she says that she doesn't. She went to the roller coaster next to Reiko which in the meantime, Kishida got decapitated. She was in shock to see such a drama. After that the police have discovered a knife in Aiko's purse, she then immediately believed that Aiko was the one who killed Kishida. After that everyone believes that Aiko is the culprit, Shinichi soon says that Hitomi is the one who murdered Kishida. Shinichi then explains how she set such a murder scene which she reveals after Shinichi's deduction that she murdered him because she dated Kishida before Aiko but dumped her after they went to colleague and met Aiko and Reiko which Kishida dumped Hitomi for Aiko.

Name Meaning

Hitomi is one of Japan most popular name that can be given to a girl. The name itself uses different kinds of kanji. A most used kanji is "瞳" which is Japanese for "eye", but also "仁美" which the "仁" kanji means: "humanity, virtue, benevolence, charity, man or kernel" and the "美" kanji means: "beauty or beautiful". A most use character writing is in hiragana "ひとみ" which is mostly used instead of the kanji.
